Committees
Committees are very important in Fyrfad. Without committees Fyrfad wouldn’t exist. That is why we have a total of 15 committees, each with a different function. There are committees for all volleyball related issues, organising activities, maintaining the website, and many more.
Some of the committees are available all year and the others are there for several weeks to a few months. Below is a list of the committees within Fyrfad divided between the permanent and temporary committees.
Permanent Committees
Technical cie
For all volleyball related matters, Fyrfad has a technical committee (TEC). The TEC makes sure all members play on the right level and in the right team. Besides that, the TEC allocates all matches, practices, and many more volleyball related things. During the try-out practices at the beginning of the season, the TEC assesses the skill level of all the players and assigns them to their corresponding team. During the season, the TEC is the committee that manages all volleyball related tasks and is the main contact for the Dutch Volleyball Association (NeVoBo).

PRomoCie
The PromoCie is the committee that provides all the designs within Fyrfad and promotes all the events to the members. That way, every member knows what activities are happening and how to join!

editorialcie
The editorial committee makes sure the ‘Fyrblad’ will be published three times a year. The Fyrblad is a custom magazine for Fyrfad members, containing the latest gossip, best pictures, funny stories and a lot more! The committee consists of seven members who want to express their creativity by creating and writing good pieces of text.
Throughout the year they are looking for nice subjects, stories and gossip to fill up the Fyrblad! Do you have something to tell the association and would you like to do something with your amazing creativity? Send an email to redactie.cie@fyrfad.nl to join this committee!
Financial Control Cie
The Financial Control Committee (KCC) consists of multiple former treasurers who check the financial administration performed by the current treasurer. Besides that, this committee advises the treasurer on setting the budget for the board year. A couple of times a year the committee comes together with the treasurer to check everything.

PolicyCie
The policy committee consists of four former board members who supervise the current board. This committee warrants the quality of the association in the long term by supporting the board. Along with the current board members the policy committee forms a committee that interviews new board applicants and tries to form a capable board each year.
It’s only possible to join the policy committee if you’ve been in the board of Fyrfad before.

The week committee organises drinks and activities during the week.

Temporary Committees
inKomcie
The inkom committee makes sure you can find Fyrfad during the introduction week, called the Inkom. This committee makes sure Fyrfad organises activities, that Fyrfad is present during general Inkom activities, and that the promotion material is ready. But the most important thing this committee does, is introducing new (and old) students to the most fun volleyball association of Maastricht: Fyrfad!

WIE
In Dutch: Werkgroep Integratie Eerstejaars (WIE). The WIE organises several activities for new (and old) Fyrfad members. During these activities new members have the opportunity to get to know each other, and Fyrfad. Every year the WIE organises four activities starting right after the try-out practices, with another activity each week. Every year there’s a walking dinner, when you have dinner at other Fyrfad members’, and a Cantus.

GALACIE
Every year, Fyrfad organises its very own gala! By joining this committee, you help making this evening unforgettable, like it certainly is every year! An of course join the festivities, maybe you’ll be king or queen this year!

members weekendcie
Every year, the members weekend committee organises a whole weekend for all members of Fyrfad. This weekend is always a great success and is known for its diversity of activities, sports, parties, and the campfire!

Fyrbattlecie
To make sure all the teams bond during the year, we have a competition at the beginning of the year. All the teams can earn points by doing challenges and joining activities together.

Hajraacie
Hajraa is the largest student grass volleyball tournament of the Europe! Every year we travel to Eindhoven with a large group of up to 100 Fyrfad members to join this tournament, drink beer, and party. Of course a committee is needed to make sure there is cold beer and a place to sleep for everyone.
